M3 was started in 2008 to fill a void in the multi-act live-to-air music broadcast industry. The concept was, and remains, to provide our clients with the highest quality equipment and the most experienced personnel. The company launched with one truck, Eclipse, and one portable system. In 2010 M3 brought online a second truck, Voyager, with the same capabilities as Eclipse but a smaller footprint. In 2011 along with the acquisition of PEG Audio, M3 acquired OBU, a small utility truck that can be equipped with whatever is necessary for a specific project. M3’s last truck came in 2015 with the addition of Phoenix. Phoenix was resurrected with new equipment and a new chassis from Joel Singer’s OSR truck that he built in 2004. Throughout its 15-year history, M3 has updated its portable and truck systems multiple times and can now provide whatever is necessary to ensure a successful project. From the largest multi-act shows to the most intimate audio recordings, M3 has the systems to provide exactly what our clients need.
2008 to present
From our beginnings in the summer of 2008, flight-pack systems have been a staple at M3. The first several shows we executed were all on our flight-pack systems while the construction of Eclipse was being completed. Those early shows included The New Now Next Awards for MTV, The Cure Live from Madison Square Garden for Fuse Network, Macy’s 4th of July Spectacular for NBC, Coldplay at The Daily Show with Jon Stewart and 3 Mo Divas at the Denver Center for Performing Arts. Through the years the M3 portable systems have seen many upgrades as we strive to keep them as powerful and flexible as possible. There are several annual clients that have come to rely on them year in and year out, including The Songwriters Hall of Fame for the induction ceremony and Universal Television for many of the NBC pre-tapes for the 4th of July and Christmas in Rockefeller Center.
